“…it’s God Spirit in a person that makes wise human insight possible.” – Job 32:8 MSG
WHAT HAD started off as a mysterious case of pneumonia in Wuhan China in late 2019, has now turned into a worldwide pandemic. Officially called COVID-19, Coronavirus disease has taken the lives of more than 13,000 people, and at the time of this writing, over 300,000 cases have been reported globally.
Major cities across the world are in lockdown, schools are shut, food in some countries are running low, jobs are being lost, sports leagues have been suspended, financial markets have been rocked, economies are falling apart – if not in a recession, government finances are being brought to their knees, and public health services are overstretched and are scrambling with how to deal with the continued rise in the amount of cases of the disease. And now the search for a cure has turned into a global competition as more than 20 clinical trials have taken place in Europe, China and the United States.
But despite the best efforts of scientists to find a cure – its once again a reminder of just how limited man is when it comes to finding solutions to dire situations. Indeed, it can only be something that is above human comprehension that is able to solve such problems. In the Bible, Elihu, a friend of Job, said that, “it’s God’s Spirit in a person, the breath of the Almighty One, that makes wise human insight possible.” He even goes on to say that, “the experts have no corner on wisdom.” (Job 32:8-9 MSG)
In other words, in a scenario where experts still don’t have the answers to the virus – it is only those who have the Spirit of God that will be able to come up with a solution. Just look at how Joseph was able to help Egypt through seven years of an economic crisis.
When Joseph had interpreted Pharaoh’s dreams – he told Pharaoh to appoint a “discerning and wise man, and set him over the land of Egypt.” But having looked around at his servants, he concluded that, “Can we find such a one as this, a man in whom is the Spirit of God?” (Speaking of Joseph). Put another way, it was the wisdom that was God has put in Joseph that would help the land through a period of famine.
Therefore, in today’s epidemic where countless lives are being lost, and where there seems to be no hope in sight, the world is waiting for those (whether in the medical profession or not) who have God’s discerning spirit like Joseph to help the Nations of world overcome this crisis because as the Book of Proverbs says, “Wisdom is the principle thing!”

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of WISDOM”. If the world can recognise this, it is the SOLUTION to all crisis.
